BeaveRun Championship Karting Series Announces 2010 Schedule
Wampum, PA - The BRCKS season launches with the season opening race on April 25th at the famed .82 mile, 17-turn Wilson Circuit. A total of thirteen points races will be contested over the 2010 season culminating with the final race on October 3rd. The 2010 season promises to be the most exciting and diverse to date.
Additionally, the WKA Great Lakes Sprint Series will return to BeaveRun in 2010 for the weekend of June 18-20th. While this event is always a highlight for many local racers, the 2010 GLSS round will carry even more importance as the event will offer bonus points in the BRCKS standings for the BRCKS racers that compete.
Once again, the Annual Great Pumpkin Race will close out the season on October 16-17th. The two day, non-points race has become a tradition featuring varying track layouts, team relay races and much more. The Ninth Annual event promises to be bigger and better than ever!
A truly special event has been added to the 2010 schedule as the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix has invited the BRCKS to host two invitational races on the Wilson Circuit during their annual races at BeaveRun in July. This is a rare opportunity to showcase kart racing during BeaveRun’s largest spectator event of the season!
Alternate track configurations will be featured at a minimum of two points races and one day of the Great Pumpkin Race. Tentative alternate configuration dates are Saturday June 26th and Sunday August 29th.
Three Double-Race event weekends will be held during the season – May 22-23rd, June 26-27th and August 14-15th. In addition, both the Great Lakes Sprint Series event and Great Pumpkin Race will feature two days of racing action. As has been the tradition for several years, the day before each race day will feature a full practice allowing travelling racers to enjoy an additional day of on-track action for the price of just one road trip.
The final points will be based on a racers best nine finishes out of the thirteen points races, allowing for four drops over the course of the season. Details on the bonus points for the Great Lakes Sprint Series races will be announced at a later date.
