BeaveRun to Host 100 Year Old Mini Owner
Ernest Trent to Drive During One Lap Activities

Wampum PA (3.22.07) - Driving schools at world class motorsports facilities, MINI Coopers and 100 year old men; three very unusual subjects individually. Put all of them together in one story and you have one of the most unique and entertaining stories of the year.

Ernest Trent recently purchased a shiny new red and white MINI Cooper built by BMW. In doing so at 100 years of age, Trent became the oldest purchaser on record of a brand new MINI. The person that held the record previously won't hold it against him however as that record was his own from when he purchased his last new MINI at the tender age of 96!

The former pilot will bring his new MINI to BeaveRun Motorsports Complex on Saturday March 31st to take advantage of an offer extended by the Western Pennsylvania speed plant to try his hand on BeaveRun's 1.6 mile North Track.

Track President Tim Silbaugh, who extended the original invitation, anticipates that this will be a fun day for everyone, "When we first heard about Mr. Trent purchasing the new MINI we thought it was something we would love to be involved with. Here at BeaveRun we can provide him with a one of a kind opportunity to get comfortable with his new car and hopefully teach him a few things that will make his day to day driving a safer, more enjoyable experience. Although at 100 years old, I imagine he has more than a few things he could teach all of us!"

Ironically, the Somerset resident will take his turn behind the wheel on the same day that the Cannonball One Lap of America School will be taking place at BeaveRun. The centenarian in the diminutive MINI will be sharing paddock space with Corvettes & Porsches and personalities such as famed motorsports journalist Brock Yates, Grand Am racer Chris Gleason and race team owner John Walko.

Despite the glamour of the expensive sports cars and performance drivers in the surrounding paddock, Ernest and his MINI will surely be one of the centers of attention.
