BeaveRun Paddock Fills as the Sunshine Finally Returns
Wampum PA (5.1.07) - After countless wet and soggy days this spring
the sun finally made an appearance at BeaveRun Motorsports Complex and the
racers came out in droves.
The schedule for Sunday April 29th included motorcycles on the North Track,
autocross on the Vehicle Dynamics Area and karting on the Wilson Circuit.
The action on the VDA was nonstop as more than 120 autocross combatants took
to the course as part of the SCCA Steel Cities Region Autocross Series Event
#1. The action was part of a two day event that featured a Test & Tune day
on Saturday as well.
More information on the many events the SCCA Steel Cities Region is involved
with at BeaveRun can be found at the
Steel Cities Region
website.
Karting action was in full swing on the world renowned Wilson Circuit as the
BeaveRun Championship Karting Series kicked off the season with the first
race of the twelve race schedule. More than sixty karts were entered in six
different classes from Kid Karts for the 5-8 year olds to the 125cc
Shifters.
For Race Director Scot Silbaugh the numbers were impressive for the first
race of the season, particularly considering some regular racers were not in
attendance due to other commitments such as National events.
"This is a great start to our season; the racing was clean, competitive and
exciting and the weather was perfect. We expect the kart counts to grow from
here as well as there are several new racers showing up on practice days
that are going to be racing soon and several of our regulars who were
running National events this weekend will be returning."
Next on the karting schedule is the Open House & Kart Show scheduled for
this coming Sunday May 6th at 10:00. People interested in the sport can
learn more about karting at BeaveRun as well as talk to other racers and see
karts and equipment from several local dealers.

The North Track saw the motorcycles rule the day on a sunny Sunday as
European Motorcycle of Pittsburgh hosted a full day of open lapping sessions
on the 1.6 mile road course.
More than eighty Novice, Intermediate and Experienced riders were in
attendance filling each run group to capacity. Technical advice from the
experienced staff at European Motorcycles was available for riders as well.
Additional information about European Motorcycle can be found at their
website.
